It great! My husband works construction and his clothes get very smelly. We both think his clothes smell better after washing with this recipe than the store bought product. I also like the the detergent to be more gelatinous and I use my immersion blender for a few seconds after it is cool to whip it. It turns white and jelly.

Hey Ashley, I don’t think that would be an issue. My only concern would be the oils used to scent the epsom salt and if they might come off on the clothes, so maybe try a small test run first with one garment.

Hey Jillian, Einkorn has a lovely flavor, it’s slightly sweet and nutty naturally. I think it’s much more flavorful than white bread.

Hey Amy, Add the spices to the the dry ingredients (along with the salt and any mix-ins). You’ll want the spices to bake with the granola ingredients to release their flavor. Add the vanilla extract to the maple mixture (wet ingredients). Then mix everything together and bake.

I’m assuming because they are the last ingredient on the list, dry spices are added AFTER baking. I’d love vanilla and would like to season with vanilla extract. Would you recommend adding the vanilla to the oil and maple syrup mix? Can’t wait to try this!

Hey Jenny, Since I haven’t tried using buttermilk in this recipe, I don’t have a solid recommendation. You can try replacing the applesauce with buttermilk; however, it won’t provide the sweetness of applesauce and may change the texture of the muffins. For blueberry muffins, you can just add 1 cup of blueberries as the mix-in of choice.
